Introduction:
SmartSlab
is the world’s toughest digital video display for walls, floors,
billboards and buildings. SmartSlab is a unique ‘digital tile’
providing an amazing canvas for design and communication. First
used as the floor in the Mind Zone at the Millennium Dome in London.
Inspired by the naturally efficient optics of the fly’s eye,
the display uses hexagonal pixels (hexels™) to effect a perceived
image of 18% finer resolution than a regular square ‘pixel’.
The red, green and blue LEDs contained within each hexel emit a
range of 16 million possible colours.
The
honeycombe structure creates an extremely strong, slim tile enabling
it to be used directly as a building component for an interior or
exterior wall, ceiling or floor.
